Thanks a lot to all
entrants. All entries are worthy contenders, and our entrants range from a rising star of only 10 months on the vise to veterans
of up to 35 years hackling hooks. You all helped to promote our hobby of fly tying through your participation and we hope
you’ll enter again in 2011.
Thanks
to our panel of judges, Sandy Barnhill, John Cameron Sr., and Damian Welsh. Thanks also to Scott Doncaster,
Don MacLean, Jacques Heroux and the Dieppe Fly Tying Club for help and support. And, of course, congratulations to the winners!
Regards,
Bill

River Magic Fly-Tying Championship
- 2010
River Magic’s first
annual Fly Tying Championship is your chance to show your fly-tying talents, win amazing prizes, and have your flies featured
in the press and on our website. The rules for our contest are simple, and you have a good chance of winning.
How to Enter
1. Each flytyer should enter only ONCE - no multiple entries. Tie and
submit ONE OFFICIAL FLY, selected from the OFFICIAL FLY PATTERNS - Cosseboom,
Muddler, or Salmon Bomber. See link at the bottom of this page for photos & specs of the OFFICIAL
FLIES.
2. Tie and submit ONE TIE-BREAKER FLY
of your choice. Select a fly you would use under actual fishing conditions. Be sure to include a complete recipe of the materials
used to create your tie-breaker fly. Use the Official Fly Patterns as examples of how to complete a recipe.
3.
Download & complete the official Entry Form, including all contact information and the recipe for your tie-breaker fly
pattern.
4. Carefully package your flies, including the printed Entry Form and recipe description for
the tiebreaker fly, and mail to:
River Magic Productions
9718 Hwy 7, RR 2 Aspen
Stillwater, NS Canada B0H 1E0
All flies and related materials
must be received at River Magic’s Fly Shop on or before Friday, March 19, 2010 no later than 5:00 p.m. (AT).
Judging
A panel of judges will select the top 20 mandatory flies. The tiers who create the top 20 mandatory flies
will progress to step two: judging of the tiebreaking flies. The top five will win prizes and recognition in the press, on
our website, and be displayed in our fly shop until next year. All flies entered become the property of River Magic.
Judging, announcement of winners, & display of winning flies was to take place at the Dieppe Fly Fishing
Forum on March 27 - 28, 2010, but this was postponed due to illness. An independent panel of three judges has been appointed.
Judging and announcement of winners will happen shortly.
